Favorite Finds

I feel sure I’ve shown pictures of my matte white pottery collection before, but I’m too lazy to look back into my archives.

Nonetheless, the collection certainly qualifies as a BUNCH of my favorite finds. I started collecting these about 20 years ago and at this point only buy a piece if it’s in perfect shape and/or unusual. When I first started, I could find these pieces for cheap, cheap, cheap, but over the years they’ve grown more and more popular and harder to come by. Still, I occasionally find a piece or two at a thrift store for under $5.

This has always been one of my favorite finds, purchased over 20 years ago at a Little Rock yard sale. As a matter of fact, this little beauty may have been my first piece of matte white pottery. I wasn’t in love with it right away but my mom urged me to buy it for, I think, fifty cents.

Winter is making me logy and lazy. I search Craigslist every Friday night in vain for a rummage sale or estate sale that sounds like it might be worth braving the weather but so far, no dice. Hope the shopping is better for my thrifting friends out there than it is for me. I’m currently working on three different projects right now, all involving the refurbishing of awesome vintage finds, so I hope to report back on that within a week or two.

In the meantime, hope you’re staying warm!
