I found these at an estate sale last weekend:
Eight souvenir state hankies. You know what cracks me up? The sheer volume of items that we used to stamp state souvenirs on. Shot glasses, back scratchers, socks…the list goes on and on. All as proof that you had been somewhere, I guess. Why do we feel the need to purchase things from the places we visit?
My Dad used to travel for business every month and we were personally offended if he didn’t bring us back something. He was forever remembering at the last minute and buying things at the airport. I still have a dream catcher he brought for me in Arizona.
dI’m going to sell these as a lot on Etsy. I’m working on a post about my Esty shop, by the way.
I just got back from a round of the thrift stores, where everything was half-price. I went to three of them and got the babies three giant bags full of clothes. Still haven’t had to purchase much new for them! But I didn’t find any fun vintage items…I’m sure pickers had already cleared the shelves of anything good by the time I got there at nine or ten.
Hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful!
